Welp y’all. It’s official.
This session was the HARDEST session I’ve had to cull down. Ever.
Culling is when photographers delete images from a session that are either blurry, or someone is blinking, or it’s just not the moment they were hoping to capture.
I usually struggle deleting/cutting a clients images’ back because I definitely don’t like to overwhelm my families with too many pictures. I think my sweet spot is typically 30-40 pictures, and sometimes I feel like that’s even too much.
But what can I say, I like capturing and sharing all of my families sweet moments.
Anyways! I usually haves issues culling a session. But this session – this family – really did it for me.
I just can’t delete any of them, y’all!
The Batts family hung out with me about a week ago. We met down at their friends dock, hopped on their boat and rode down to a cute little island tucked away between Wrightsville Beach and Figure 8 island. I couldn’t tell ya the name of the island, but can someone please take me back there again, asap? Please & thank you!
Brooke is pregnant with her third baby, a little boy! And knowing this is her last pregnancy, she wanted to go out with a bang – she purchased her Maternity Story, and we got to planning.
After a short boat ride we got to the island a little early, but that’s okay because it gave the girls time to explore and have fun. Which also gives me time to get to know them and their little personalities before the session really starts.
When the sun was setting and it was go-time, it was instantly fun & I felt so privileged being there to capture their family. Every image was perfection. Every photograph made me smile. Every shot felt like it truly captured who this family is, and I just couldn’t cull down their galleries more than I did.
So, sorry in advance Batts’ family. You’re about to be spammed with a ton of beautiful images. Like, 100 of them. whoops.
And now I’ve officially overshared with y’all, too. But that’s okay. This family is as gorgeous on the inside as they are on the outside, and I’m super thankful I get to help tell their Story.
